About Danvers Police: The Danvers Police Department has forty-six sworn personnel and is a State and Nationally Accredited service oriented police agency. The Department is committed to ensuring the safety of the community, while maintaining a high quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors. The Town is fourteen square miles and services a population of just over 26,000 residents. The Town of Danvers borders the Cities of Beverly, Peabody, and the Towns of Wenham, Middleton, and Topsfield. Interstate 95, U.S. 1, routes 128, 35, and 62 all run through the Town. Danvers has a significant retail and commercial space along with recreational venues which tend to drive property crime and traffic issues.
Specialist assignments include Detectives, a Canine Unit, N.E.M.L.E.C. SWAT and RRT, a Community Policing and School Outreach Section, which provides D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. programs within the school setting.
Benefits: Salary range is $49,628 to $61,183. The Town offers a liberal benefits package including educational incentive pay, vacation, holiday, and personal time, along with health insurance, premiums are split by the Town and the employee at 70/30%. Any candidates who are not covered by Chapter 31 (Civil Service) are not eligible to apply.
