18th National Drug Take Back
The Danvers Police Department will again participate as a drop site for the 18th National Drug Take Back Day. The event will take place at the department 120 Ash St. Danvers MA between the hours of 10am-2pm.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. The 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health found that 9.9 million Americans misuse controlled prescription drugs misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
Can’t make it on October 26th? Not to worry! Prescription medication disposal is available in the lobby of the police station 24/7!

Danvers Police Make Arrest in May Bank Robbery
DANVERS, MA – October 1, 2019 Earlier this morning, the Danvers Police Department executed an arrest warrant for Robert Cornejo, 33, of Malden, at his place of work in Stoneham. Cornejo was identified as the suspect allegedly responsible for the robbery of People’s United Bank at 3 Federal Street in Danvers on May 2, 2019. Earlier this week, lab results were received from the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab that led to the issuance of the arrest warrant. Cornejo is currently being charged with Unarmed Robbery and Common & Notorious Thief and was arraigned this morning at Salem District Court.

National Coffee with a Cop Day at Kaffmandu Coffee House
Wednesday October 2nd 2019 is National Coffee with a Cop Day. Join us at Kaffmandu Coffee House 8 Maple St in Danvers Square between 6am-10am for a cup of coffee and conversation with members from the Danvers Police Department.
The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to get to know the officers in your neighborhood.
IRA Toyota of Danvers Donates New D.A.R.E. Cruiser
Danvers, MA- The Danvers Police Department would like to thank IRA Toyota of Danvers for donating and designing our new 2020 Toyota Camry D.A.R.E. cruiser. Officer Skane, our new School Resource Officer, will be driving this cruiser to the Holten Richmond Middle School where he will be teaching the D.A.R.E program.
Over the years, IRA Toyota has been a major supporter of our D.A.R.E. program and the youth of Danvers. Thank you again for your commitment to our community.
