The Town will kick off Public Works Week this year with Public Works Open House on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the DPW, 95 Hobart Street. All Danvers residents are invited. This will be a great event for adults and children of all ages.
Please join us and learn what Public Works does for you. Many activities are planned including the DPW Derby with wooden cars you can make and race with the Building Division, bucket truck rides with the Forestry Division, balloons and an amusement ride with the Equipment Division and hayrides with the Grounds Division. Our Street Division will do a paving demonstration and will help you make signs, Water & Sewer Division employees will show residents how they tap into a water main and the Water Treatment Plant Manager will be answering any questions you have about Danvers Water while you have a drink. Touch-a-truck and vehicle and equipment demonstrations will be run by all our Divisions, and hot dogs and snacks will be served.
The Town will offer a variety of educational information on the Peak Savings Program, trash & recycling, stormwater, rebates and water quality & conservation. There will also be raffles for rain barrels, compost bins and recycling bins. Parking is available on street as well as onsite at the DPW. Please join us for a family day of fun and education.
