Chief Neil F. Ouellette is proud to report the recent regional collaboration between Danvers Police Detectives and Patrol Officers, Ipswich Police Detectives, Peabody Police Detectives and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms; to arrest several high profile drug dealers and remove dangerous drugs from our communities.
On Saturday January 4th, 2015 a narcotics investigation culminated with the arrest of Yesenia Gonzalez, 38, of 241 Columbia Road Dorchester, MA after Ipswich Officer Edward Gallivan conduct surveillance on a female who allegedly works for a drug trafficking organization out of Boston. As a result of the surveillance the suspect was stopped in Danvers for motor vehicle violations and the subsequent investigation led to her arrest, along with the seizure of over $1600.00 cash, 6.5 grams of Heroin and 13.4 grams of Cocaine.
On Wednesday January 7, 2015 a search warrant was conducted at 3 River Drive Apt. E Danvers, by Danvers Police Detectives, Peabody Police Detectives, DEA Task Force Officers, and an ATF Agent, which culminated a month-long investigation into a large scale marijuana distribution business with the arrest of Chansery Srey, 29, of that address. As a result of the search warrant over $10,000.00 in cash was seized, along with a half-pound on marijuana, steroids, and a firearm. This subject was dealing marijuana in one half pound and one pound quantities and the drugs no doubt were ultimately ending up in the hands of youths within the region.
Personnel involved in this investigation were Danvers Detectives Timothy Williamson and Robert Sullivan under the direction of Detective Sergeant Phil Tansey, and Captain Patrick Ambrose, Ipswich Detective Edward Gallivan, Peabody Detectives Eric Ricci and Dave Murphy, ATF Agent Jack Kelter, along with Danvers Patrol Sergeant Peter Shabowich, Officers Steven MacDonald, Scott Frost, Eric Clarizia, Robert Hines and Justin Ellenton.
Several additional cross jurisdictional drug distribution cases are currently under investigation by this group. The final message to those who deal drugs in our community is; we will work collaboratively and aggressively within Essex County to identify, investigate and arrest those individuals in a relentless effort to prevent dangerous illegal substances from harming our residents and children.
