In an attempt to limit the exposure of our officers and following guidelines set forth by Governor Baker, the Danvers Police Department is implementing the following changes:
Firearms Licensing:
Renewal applications for licenses initially issued by the Danvers Police Department should be MAILED to the station, attn: Firearms Licensing Officer, Danvers Police Department, 120 Ash St, Danvers MA, 01923. Applications should no longer be dropped off in the lobby. They will be processed as they are received. Applicants renewing licenses issued by another department must appear in person on a licensing date. New applicants must also appear in person on a licensing date. Please see danverspolice.com/firearms for further information.
Public Records Requests:
As previously announced, and following the direction of Town Manager Steve Bartha, all Administrative offices at the station are closed. This includes the Records Division. Please do not come into the station to request a report. All report requests should be sent to dpdrecords@danversma.gov
The Prescription Drug Take Back and Sharps Disposal services will no longer be available in the station lobby. Additionally, the Danvers Police Department will not be offering any fingerprinting services at this time.
We encourage you to please call 978.774.1212 prior to coming to the station. Most routine business can be conducted via telephone or online to limit in person contact.
We will post an update when these restrictions are rescinded.
