Rachel Pezzuto of PAARI Begins Outreach Work at Danvers Police Department
On Thursday November 7th 2019 Rachel Pezzuto of PAARI will be working as an advocate to help individual and families deal with addiction. Rachel, who will work in conjunction with Danielle Csogi of Lahey Health will be working every Thursday at the Danvers Police Depart. as a recovery coach from 10 AM to 2 PM. This position is part of a grant from the Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative (PAARI) through the Evelyn Lilly Lutz Foundation.
Though she officially spends each Thursday in Danvers conducting outreach to families and individuals coping with addiction, Rachel makes herself available any day of the week. She also helps by connecting those struggling with addiction to treatment and recovery services. If you’re in a place where you’re either afraid to ask or ashamed to ask or don’t know where to go, certainly start asking questions. It’s your life — you are worth it and there are resources available.

18th National Drug Take Back
The Danvers Police Department will again participate as a drop site for the 18th National Drug Take Back Day. The event will take place at the department 120 Ash St. Danvers MA between the hours of 10am-2pm.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. The 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health found that 9.9 million Americans misuse controlled prescription drugs misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
Can’t make it on October 26th? Not to worry! Prescription medication disposal is available in the lobby of the police station 24/7!

National Coffee with a Cop Day at Kaffmandu Coffee House
Wednesday October 2nd 2019 is National Coffee with a Cop Day. Join us at Kaffmandu Coffee House 8 Maple St in Danvers Square between 6am-10am for a cup of coffee and conversation with members from the Danvers Police Department.
The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to get to know the officers in your neighborhood.
