This afternoon, Detectives from the Danvers Police Department, along with members of the DEA Task Force, Massachusetts State Police, Lynn Police Department and ATF, seized over 30 grams of heroin. The arrest was made after an ongoing investigation identified an individual dealing heroin in Danvers. As a result of a motor vehicle stop and the ensuing issuance and execution of a search warrant at a residence in Lynn, over 30 grams of heroin, a small amount of cocaine, over $10,000 in cash, a semi-automatic .380 handgun, and a heroin packaging press were seized. Danvers Police Department K9 Stryka located narcotics during the execution of the search warrant.
The arrestee, whose name will be released upon confirmation of his identity, will be charged with Trafficking Heroin, Possession Class A with Intent to Distribute, Possession Class B with Intent to Distribute, Illegal Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Possession of Ammunition and is currently being held on $20,000 cash bail. Additional charges possibly pending.

Ambrose commended the officers involved in this investigation saying, “This was an exceptional investigation lead by our Danvers Police Detective assigned to the DEA Regional Task Force. Hopefully, this will assist in interrupting the availability of heroin on the North Shore while we, and other police agencies, continue in our efforts to attack the opioid crisis. “
